Meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan - Turkmenistan prepares work plan of oil & gas complex for 2018

On January 19, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which topical issues of state policy and drafts of a number of documents were considered.

At the meeting, the head of the state approved a plan of socio-economic indicators for ministries and sectoral departments of Turkmenistan, working plans for 2018 in the financial and economic and banking spheres, agricultural, industrial, transport and communication complexes, construction, energy and communal services, spheres of culture, science, education, health, sports, archives and public organizations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the socio-economic development of the capital and provinces of the countries.

In his turn, vice-chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers M. Babayev reported on the working plan of the oil and gas complex prepared by the order of the leader of the nation in 2018. The main technical and economic indicators were announced, they were natural and associated gas production, export of "blue fuel", oil and gas condensate extraction, processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, production of gasoline, etc.

On the whole, having endorsed the presented document, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded that the management of the fuel and energy complex fully utilize all available reserves for increasing the volumes of oil and gas production and processing, producing petrochemical products in demand on world markets, strengthening the resource base of the oil and gas industry, accelerating the industrial development of new hydrocarbon deposits, opened on the territory of the country

The head of the state instructed to intensify the work on attracting foreign investments into the industry, to keep under continuous monitoring the implementation of major energy projects.

Within the framework of the report, the vice-chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers reported on the investments made by the Saudi Development Fund in accordance with the agreements reached within the framework of the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in May 2016.

The head of the state noted with satisfaction the progressive dynamics of the implementation of the TAPI project, the realization of which is important in the context of the formation of a new architecture of global energy security, creating conditions for universal sustainable development.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, through which long-term natural gas will be supplied to the largest countries of South-East Asia, will give a powerful impetus to the economic development of the region, contribute to solving social and humanitarian issues, and strengthening peace and stability. This year, the construction of the Afghan section of the pipeline, as well as a number of other facilities, will begin to be part of the infrastructure of the new energy highway.

The investments provided by the Saudi Development Fund indicate a great interest in the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline by foreign investors who highly appreciated the relevance and potential of this project, its profitability and payback. A positive factor there was the policy of the "open door" pursued by our country, the stability of the national economy, and the availability of a favorable investment climate in the country.

“Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia are among the world's states with huge reserves of natural resources, which creates favorable conditions for expanding interstate cooperation both in the fuel and energy sector and in other sectors”, the head of the state said.

At the meeting information on the results of the working visits of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of India, as well as the participation of the Turkmen delegation in the conference of Muslim women parliamentarians of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and in the 13th meeting of this international structure held in Tehran Islamic Republic of Iran) was heard.

It was reported about the preparation of the International Exhibition of Industrial Products, Equipment and Modern Technologies, which will be held in Ashgabat from January 31 to February 2. The exhibition will demonstrate technological equipment, construction materials, vehicles and technical equipment for the chemical, energy, oil and gas industries and food enterprises. Their achievements will be presented by companies producing home appliances, equipment for textile industry, healthcare, as well as engaged in science and space technologies, in transport and logistics industries, providing trade services and consultations.

A decision to celebrate the Holiday of the Turkmen carpet and the Day of Textile Industry workers in May as one significant date as "The Day of the Turkmen Carpet and Textile Industry Workers" was made .

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave instructions on preparations for the exnlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which the results of 2017 will be summed up. The head of the state instructed the vice-chairmen to analyze and approve in the areas under scrutiny the considered and generally approved plans for the sectoral development in the new year, the motto of which is "Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road".

At the meeting, some other issues of state life were also considered, relevant decisions on them were made.
